Keep it up Fred. I've been to Yellowdog plains and its beautiful. Both summer and winter. No one needs this ore that badly as to ruin one of the most pristine areas left in the state. Keep fighting!!

Who better than Mr. Rydholm to provide this perspective on what exactly is at risk? The area in question is incredibly unique and a source of pride for all lovers of the UP. Kennecotts project is incredibly short-sighted and ecologically dangerous. Please keep writing Fred!

Thank you for posting Mr. Rydohlms' letter. The history lesson of this under reported situation is much appreciated. Officials and Officers of the State of Michigan, and specifically the DEQ, seem in violation of something greater than the very laws they've created and have taken oath to defend. They demonstrate no respect for their fellow citizens, our children, the land, or the future. What mine benefit is worth more than that? I pray common sense prevails and people unite to protect this shared treasure.

Fred's comments are spot-on and the problem is all apiece with similar problems we have in Colorado with water projects, which dam rivers and destroy natural fish habitat. I wish I had a solution. Unfortunately, One doesn't win one of these wars: just delays the ultimate rape. It's a bit like having a virgin daughter.

Keep on Fred. If one follows Rio Tinto properties like Kennecott`s, they all pollute: BP artic pipeline errors, Indonesian mines. There is not one that hasn`t polluted.
